According to the latest information released by foreign media, consistent with previously exposed news, the all-new iPhone 17 series will all come standard with Samsung’s latest M14 OLED panel, including two standard models iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air, which will also support ProMotion (adaptive refresh rate technology). This means that the iPhone’s flagship series will support high refresh rates. In contrast, currently only the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max in the iPhone 16 series use Samsung M14 OLED panels. This time, Apple will promote M14 on all models in the iPhone 17 series, which means that the “gold content” of the standard version will be greatly enhanced. It is worth noting that Samsung has not yet commercially released the M14 on its own models, including the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra flagship that was just launched at the beginning of the year, which still uses the M13 OLED panel.
In other aspects, according to previously exposed information, the all-new iPhone 17 Pro series has undergone significant changes in its exterior design. For the first time, it will adopt a horizontal large matrix design, with the rear triple camera located on the left side, and the flash and LIDAR LiDAR scanner located on the right side of the matrix camera, giving it a similar appearance to the Xiaomi 11 Ultra. And it will also use two materials of metal and glass splicing, with the logo area made of glass material and the other areas made of metal material, which not only takes into account wireless charging but also enhances the grip feel. On the hardware side, this series will be equipped with A19 Pro chips, manufactured based on TSMC’s 3nm process technology, without the latest 2nm process. According to reports, due to TSMC’s high cost and limited production capacity of 2nm, Apple has postponed the commercial launch of 2nm to 2026.
